Falmouth’s biggest summer festival is just around the corner!

Falmouth is set to be transformed once again for Falmouth Week from this Friday, August 10 to Sunday, August 19.

Events Square will play host to ten days of vibrant daytime and evening entertainment which all kicks off with a fantastic pink bang on Friday August 10 for Pink Wig Night.

On Saturday August 11 the famous Falmouth Marching Carnival will parade from Falmouth Rugby Club at 6.30pm through the town centre and into the Falmouth Week marquee for a carnival party with free entry and live music from The Flaming Infidels and Falmouth Soul Sensation.

Through the week there will be a whole host of class music acts, thanks to Southwest Bars and Events, including the The Wurzels who are back by popular demand with their Hog Roast and Cider night on Sunday August 12. Fleetwood Bac, the UK’s most authentic and the world’s first Fleetwood Mac tribute show, will take to the stage on Monday August13 endorsed by Mick Fleetwood himself followed by 70’s icon Leo Sayer on Tuesday, August14.

The funk and soul train will be rolling into Falmouth on Wednesday August15 with the legendary Craig Charles Funk and Soul club, supporting by The Smoking Guns.

Thursday night will welcome back the South West’s best loved ska outfit Rudi’s Message for ska night before the hotly anticipated 80’s vs 90’s Extravaganza on Friday August 17.

Now firmly set in stone as the biggest night of Falmouth Week, join Dane Bowers vs Big Ben, Go West and Snap for an epic journey through the decades as well as a dazzling firework display over Falmouth Harbour at 10pm.

Events Square will be rocking out to The Bohemians Queen tribute act before a night of comedy with Cornish legend Jethro on Sunday August 19.

In addition to the epic evening entertainment there will be an exciting array of daytime activities suitable for all ages at Events Square including University of Exeter’s Science in the Square on Friday, August 17 with interactive sessions on all things weird. Saturday, August 18 will see True Butterflies Foundation make their debut with a Comic and Movie Fest!

Expect special celebrity guests, photo opportunities, fancy dress, face painting, cosplayers and much more.

The Moor is set to be a real hub of daytime activity with street food, live music and market stalls as well as family workshops from Falmouth Art Gallery. Face your fears on the free climbing wall or experience life as a Red Arrows pilot in the Red Arrows Simulator which will be on The Moor until Wednesday, August 15 before moving to Prince of Wales Pier for the remainder of the week. The famous big wheel will be heading to Prince of Wales Pier from Friday, August 3 through to Wednesday, August 15 inclusive so hop on board and take in the views of Falmouth town.

The family fun day on Tuesday, August 14 will be a hive of activity with the world-famous Action Sports Tour in Church Street Car Park who will be displaying their incredible skills as well as offering have-a-go taster sessions. RNLI on the Quay returns to Custom House Quay for a day full of free fun, music and entertainment as well as a water polo tournament at 7pm!

The highlight of the family fun day is, of course, the RAF Red Arrows who will be flying into Falmouth on Tuesday, August 14 at 6.15pm for their breath-taking display over Falmouth Bay.

Best viewpoints include all along Falmouth seafront, Pendennis Headland, Castle Beach and Gyllyngvase Beach. Visitors are advised to plan their travel in advance on this day given the number of roads that will be closed to traffic on this day. Falmouth Town Centre will be closed to traffic from 11am to 11pm with Church Street Car Park and Custom House Quay Car

Park closed all day. Falmouth Seafront will be closed to traffic from 3pm.

Of course, Falmouth Week would not be what it is today without the famous sailing regatta which will see see seven days’ worth of top-level competitive racing across a variety of courses in Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads. Each sailing club will host a day’s racing as part of the regatta as well as teas, prize presentations and entertainment for the competitors. The prestigious and historic ANCASTA Champagne Race will take place on Wednesday, August 15

out in the bay before finishing up to the west side of Pendennis Headland.
