More than 69 percent of all students at Penryn College achieved five GCSEs at A*-C this year, including Maths and English at new grades 4 and above.

Paul Walker, Headteacher, said: "We are incredibly proud of the success of all our students. They worked exceptionally hard and taken the challenges of the new GCSEs in their stride.

Overall, 111 students in total gained at least one A*/A grade, or Grade 9-7, highlighting that the highest honours are achievable for many students. 11 students gained eight or more A/A* grades or equivalent.

Deserving of special mention for their outstanding achievements are: Vera Kok, Molly Barlow, and Alex Wilson achieved a staggering 9 Grade 9s each; other notable success were Gabriel Gentile (6 Grade 9s), and Guy Brooks and Daisy Chapman Gardener (5 Grade 9s).
