The A30 has recently reopened after being closed in both directions following a serious crash involving motorbikes.

The crash had taken place at Penhale, with both sides of the road closed and queueing traffic from the B3275 at Fraddon Services to the A3058 at Beacon Road (Summercourt Central / Newquay turn off.) The air ambulance has recently taken off, taking at least one casualty to hospital.

Initial reports suggest that three motorbikes may have been involved.

The Martin Jennings Memorial Motorbike Run is taking place today, with the route covering a large section of the county. It is not clear at this stage whether the motorbikes involved in the collision were part of the memorial convoy.

Highways England had initially suggested that the road may be closed until 5pm.
