Newquay Police Station has been evacuated and trains were disrupted after a member of the public arrived with a hand grenade.
Inspector Dave Meredith wrote on Twitter how he had been leaving the station this afternoon when the member of the public arrived with what they believed to be a hand grenade. This has since been confirmed.
However, Insp Meredith added it was "all in a day's work."

It is understood a concerned member of the public found the device, although it has not been disclosed where.
Great Western Railway earlier warned passengers that train services running to and from Newquay Train Station may be cancelled or revised, adding: "Due to the police dealing with an incident near the railway at Newquay the line will be blocked."
However, normal service has now resumed.
A Royal Navy disposal team are on their way to deal with the explosive.
