The search continues for a pair who abandoned a car near Asda in Penryn yesterday and fled on foot.

Police officers attempted to track them down with the help of a police dog but the suspects escaped.

The car was dumped in the middle of a busy roundabout at around 1pm.

Police say the car, a Renault Clio, has no insurance or MOT certificate.

Steve Grant from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Reports at around 12:30 23/9 of a car [being] abandoned and two people fleeing on foot.

"Officers search the area supported by police dog but were unable to locate the suspects.

"At this time police have been unable to locate who the rightful owner is. Enquiries continue."

Anyone who can assist police with the manhunt is urged to call 101, quoting log 0384 of September 23 2018.
