IF you've ever fancied eating dinner in an operating theatre before getting hands-on with a bit of human dissection, the event for you is coming to Cornwall.

Anatomy Lab Live is returning for 2019, offering a surgical spin on dinner and dissection.

After two sell-out tours it's back for 2019 bigger and better than before, say those behind it.

It will be visiting towns and cities across the UK and it has been confirmed that it will come to the Eden Project in Cornwall on March 22.

The experience will see those quick enough to grab tickets enjoy a two-course meal in an operating theatre dining room. The room will plunge to blackout and the centre stage operating theatre will spring into action.

Ventilators, a crash trolley and full team will spring will race the clock to save a patient's life as the show opens.

A live patient will be rushed through the crowd into the pod before being anaesthetised in a state of panic.

Broadcast to live screens, guests will see Samuel Piri and his clinical team take the scalpel to the patient's chest. As the scalpel goes in and the incisions are made, the inside organs are revealed and surgery starts…

Each table will be draped in full blue surgical drapes as well as a surgical trolley with clamps, scalpels and an array of surgeon's tools. Guided by nationally acclaimed human anatomist Samuel Piri and his team of clinicians, the audience will systematically work its way through a complete dissection of the human body, attempting a variety of surgical techniques.

Working on real specimens using real surgeon's tools, guests will discover the intricate structures and how they function to keep you alive.

At the 2019 event the audience will have the chance to have a go at corrective surgical procedures using real kit on the specimens.

Each guest will be provided with real surgical, overalls including a full surgeon's gown, hat, mask and gloves.

They’ll be using real surgeon's scissors, scalpels, clamps and kidney dishes to incubate the respiratory system and event suture tissues using surgeon's suturing kits. After taking part, members of the audience can claim an exclusive Anatomy Lab live CPD certificate.

Samuel Piri said: "Were really excited to be back with the surgery tour in 2019. We’ve worked hard to respond to everybody’s feedback and requests and the ‘The Surgery’ is definitely going to be exciting.
