RESIDENTS from Roseland Parc retirement village in Tregony were among those in fine voice at a charity concert performed by the Nankersey Male Voice Choir.

The concert raised £1,120 for two local good causes: Tregony Village Hall (where the concert was held) and Cornwall Hospice Care.

As well as having a presence at the concert, Retirement Villages made a donation to help cover the cost of marketing material for the event.

Other appearances on the evening – enjoyed by a 100-strong audience – came from celebrated Cornish singer, Karen Hurn and former Radio Cornwall presenter and now head of fund raising and communications at Cornwall Hospice Care, Tamsin Thomas.

One of the charity concert organisers; Des Mennear, who often helps with Roseland Parc’s own event, said: “Everyone had a most enjoyable evening's entertainment. I was extremely grateful that Retirement Villages agreed to be a sponsor for the event, at which over £1,000 was raised for two very worthy local causes."
