A TRURO man who stole thousands of pounds worth of nail products has been handed a suspended jail sentence.

David Barrow, aged 43, of Pendeen Road, admitted committing the offence in Redruth on May 17.

He entered as a trespasser Nail Supplies and stole nail products and accessories to the value of £3,500 to £4,000.

Truro magistrates' reason for custody was the "devastating effect" on victims and prolific offending to sustain a lifelong drug habit.

He was committed to prison for 18 weeks, suspended for two years. He was placed under a supervision period of one year, during which he will be electronically monitored.

He was also ordered to pay £3,800 compensation.
