A serious collision involving two vehicles saw a road near Porthleven closed for a period of time yesterday evening to allow for casualty extraction, scene examination, investigation and vehicle recovery.
As a result of this collision one person was taken to Derriford hospital in a life threatening condition. Two further casualties were taken to Treliske with minor injuries.
The collision involved a white Fiat Panda which had been travelling on the B3304 toward the main A394, and a white Iveco van.
For reasons yet to be established, the Panda joined the main A394 road from the minor road, into the path of the oncoming Van who was travelling along the main A394 between Helston and Porthleven.
Firefighters used crash rescue equipment was used to cut free casualties from the vehicles, who were then left in the care of Ambulance services.
Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses who may be add some information to this investigation to come forward quoting log number DCP-20181008-0511k
