FALMOUTH Oyster Festival organisers have issued an update as bad weather affects the event.
The event was shelved on Friday as Storm Callum swept through Cornwall, bringing rain and strong winds.
The children's parade, set for the afternoon, was cancelled and then the decision was made to call off the day in its entirety due to worries over safety in regards to the marquee in Events Square where the majority of the attractions take place.
On Saturday morning, organisers said that the marquee remained closed this morning as the high winds continue.
They added: "It's looking better this afternoon – the event team will review at midday and hopefully a positive announcement will be made then."
Anyone who bought tickets for Friday's events should seek a refund at their point of purchase.
