ORGANISERS of Falmouth Oyster Festival have announced that the event will open at 3pm today.
The weekend has been dogged by the weather, with strong winds making it unsafe to open the marquee at Events Square on Friday and on Saturday morning.
With the winds forecast to lessen this afternoon, organisers have now said that the event will open at 3pm.
The programme is as per advertised, except that the oyster shucking competition will not take place today.
3pm opening - the festival will be as per the programme for this afternoon, this evening and tomorrow except there will be no oyster shucking competition today. Please come down and join us!

The cancellations began on Friday, with the afternoon parade called off thanks to the weather, before the whole day was shelved.
The festival runs all day on Sunday, with fair weather forecast.
