NOVEMBER 5 will once again see Falmouth firefighters lighting up the sky with their annual firework display.

Falmouth Firefighters Social and Welfare Club and members of Falmouth Cricket Club will be hosting this year’s event at Falmouth Cricket Ground off Trescobeas Road. Gates open at 6pm for a 7pm start.

Pirate FM will be providing the entertainment and there will be the chance to enjoy a hotdog, burger, hog roast or a doughnut among other refreshments. There will also be a children’s fairground ride.

This year will see £7,500 worth of fireworks being let off to music.

Show organiser, Giles Kent, said: "It is is guaranteed to be one of the largest displays in the county with a very explosive line up of fireworks; this is one the largest and most expensive displays we have put on.

"I would encourage people to get there in good time, as huge crowds arriving at 7pm make it very difficult for us to get everyone into the ground on time. Also there is no car parking on site at this event, so please allow for this in advance."

Entry will remain at £4 for adults and £2 for children; children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Local charities and bonafide good causes are invited to apply to be considered for a share of the proceeds from this community event.

A small proportion of any proceeds will go to support the activities of the Social and Welfare Club, including the costs of hosting the firework event.

Thanks to the community's continued support for the event, last year’s show raised more than £6,000 that was shared among local charities and good causes.

Applications from community groups and charities should be made in writing to the Social and Welfare Club at Falmouth Fire Station, Trescobeas Road, TR11 2LQ.
