Leaping into a swirling sea during the aftermath of a major storm is not everyone’s idea of a relaxing Sunday morning – but it was top of the list for this fearless bodyboarder at Porthleven.
Captured by Packet photographer Kathy White, the surfer can be seen taking a giant leap from the end of the pier as waves spray up all around him.
Despite being clad in a wetsuit, the bodyboarder – named locally as Ben Stone – is still likely to have felt the full force of the elements, thanks to a churning sea being the postscript of Cornwall bearing the brunt of Storm Callum.
And while Ben may only have been after a quiet weekend surf, he has now found unsuspecting fame thanks to the image being printed in national newspapers around the country including The Times and The Metro.
