The driver of a car involved in a three-car crash on the A30 near Hayle remains in hospital in a serious condition today.

Police are still trying to piece together the circumstances of the crash, which took place on the Hayle bypass between the St Erth and Loggans Moor roundabouts at around 10.50am yesterday.

They have urged anyone who saw any of the cars immediately before the crash, or witnessed the actual collision, to get in contact by calling 101 and quoting log reference number 370.

Officers from Camborne Traffic Centre are in the process of carrying out an investigation. All three cars were travelling in the same direction, east bound from the St Erth area, at the time of the collision.

A police spokesperson said the driver of a black Ford Fiesta received "serious life threatening, multiple injuries."

The other person in this this vehicle, along with those in the other two cars, suffered relatively minor injuries.
