A police incident involving a man on the roof of a Truro house is now into its sixth hour.
Police negotiators were called to George Street at around 11am today, are after the man in 40s climbed onto a roof and started throwing tiles.
He was is said to have caused "substantial damage" to the roof by pulling tiles off and throwing them down.
A police spokesperson said there had been no mention of further tile throwing recently, but that the incident remained ongoing.
Roads in the immediate area remain closed for the safety of the public. Richmond Hill leading to Truro Train Station and Ferris Town have been closed in both ways.
A police spokesperson said: "Emergency services including police negotiators are at the scene and are working towards a peaceful resolution."
- Union Street has also been closed both ways in the last ten minutes.
