Barn fire near Helston
Firefighters from Helston, Hayle, Mullion and St Keverne and a command unit from St Just tackled a fire in a barn yesterday evening.
The control centre received the call just after 8pm and firefighters - some of whom wore breathing apparatus, used a jet and two hosereels to extinguish the fire.
Fire appliances parked on the main road between Helston and Hayle to deal with the incident on Sithney Common, causing drivers to approach with caution.
