A ghoulish mannequin considered "part of the family" by one Helston woman has been stolen.

Tamara Tyler-Street woke up on Thursday morning (October 11) to find that Nancy the mannequin had disappeared from her front garden.

Tamara was "very, very upset" by the theft, and made her second ever Facebook post to call for the spooky figure's safe return, offering a £30 reward to anyone who brings her back in one piece.

But some commenters online did not see the seriousness of the situation.

Dave Sharrock said: "Presumably you're posting this as a public thanks to the thief?"

Dan Holland said: "Pretty sure I saw her an hour ago in Wetherspoons Camborne."

Hailey Houlden-Smith said: "Looks like my neighbour."

Speaking about how she first found Nancy, Tamara said: "Someone was doing a garage sale so I grabbed her, she's part of the family now."

She was often amused by the reactions of people walking past and spotting the inanimate individual, saying: "The amount of people who walked past her and laughed and jumped was amazing."

Now the mannequin family has been torn apart, and Nancy's headless husband is without a spouse.

Anyone who has any information about Nancy's whereabouts can email marco.ferrari@packetseries.co.uk, who will pass on the message to Tamara.
