A BRILL man narrowly avoided jail time after breaching the terms of a suspended sentence imposed for battery and actual bodily harm.

Gavin Michael Perraton, 27, of Higher Trengove in Brill, failed to complete the 200 hours of unpaid work that he was sentenced to in August.

Magistrates decided not to imprison him because of the impact it would have had on his children.

He admitted to the breach, and must now be under an electronic curfew for six months between the hours of 7pm and 6am from Tuesday to Saturday.

He was also given another suspended prison sentence of 26 weeks, suspended for two years.

A FALMOUTH man was hit with a £100 speeding fine.

Jago Drew Chenoweth, 18, of Trefusis Road, broke the speed limit on the A30 in Bodmin.

He pleaded guilty and as well as the fine, was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and court costs of £85.

His licence was endorsed with five penalty points.

A FALMOUTH man was fined £92 for speeding.

Christopher John Clark, of Grovehill House, broke the speed limit on the A30 in Roche.

As well as the fine, he was ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.

He pleaded guilty and his licence was endorsed with five penalty points.

A PENZANCE man was fined for drink driving.

Sergej Korotkov, 57, of Leskinnick Place, drove on Gwavas Street in Penzance with 81 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the limit is 35.

He pleaded not guilty, but was found guilty at Truro Magistrates Court on October 30 and was fined £345, and ordered to pay £770 court costs.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £35, and was disqualified from holding a licence for 40 months.

A HAYLE mother was fined £176 and ordered to pay court costs of £1,270 for failing to ensure her child attended school.

Yolande Philpott, 50, of Crean, pleaded guilty to the offence in which her child did not attend school regularly between December 4 2017 and January 5 2018.

DRIVING without valid insurance landed a St Erth man with a £300 fine.

Lewis William Weaver, 24, of Vicarage Gate, was found driving in Penzance without valid insurance on May 22 of this year.

He pleaded guilty, and as well as the fine, he was ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.

His licence was also endorsed with eight penalty points.

A FALMOUTH driver was fined for speeding.

Ian Tienwoh Woh Franklin, 48, of Silverdale Road, broke the speed limit on the A30 on June 27.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was handed a fine of £133, and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.

His driving licence was also endorsed with four penalty points.

Franklin will have to make repayments at the rate of £50 per fortnight.

A MAN from Illogan was fined for failing to give information about the driver of a vehicle who had broken the speed limit.

Samuel Charles Olly Ohagan, 30, of Oxland Road, was fined £120 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30.

He pleaded guilty and had his driving licence endorse with six penalty points.

A SPEEDING fine of £440 was handed to a Gwithian man who exceeded the limit while driving in Camborne.

Martin Albert Bowden, 59, of Gwealavellan Farm, was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £44 and court costs of £85.

His offence was proved by a single justice procedure, and his licence was endorsed with four penalty points.

Myron French, 47, of Carharrack, broke the speed limit on the A38 at Menheniot.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and court costs of £85.

A REDRUTH man was fined £660 for driving without a valid licence or insurance.

Ian Robert George, 47, of Trevingey Road, was found driving in Redruth on June 17.

As well as the fine, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and court costs of £85, and his driving record was endorsed with eight penalty points.

The offences were proved through a single justice procedure.

A WOMAN from Redruth was fined £660 for failing to give information to a police officer that would have identified the driver of a speeding vehicle.

Kayleigh Gibson, 31, of Great Court, committed the offence on June 8 in Plymouth, and it was proved through a single justice procedure at Bodmin Magistrates' Court.

She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and court costs of £85.

Her licence was also endorsed with six points.

A PLYMOUTH man was fined £100 for speeding in Camborne.

Simon Denis Murphy, 31, of Pembroke Lane, pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place on April 18.

As well as the fine, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and had his driving licence endorsed with four points.
