Dismal weather may have got in the way of our plan to shoot Gyllyngvase beach, but we were determined to at least have a few hot drinks and talk shop at the camera club's first meet-up.
We all put some faces to names, and it was great to meet some of the club's contributors that I had chatted to sporadically through Facebook comments since the Packet Camera Club first started in March.
Peter Marland entertained us with his well-produced video of a somewhat grisly misadventure, and Dave Perry spoke about his recent haul of fake food from a second-hand Facebook page as a subject for still life.
With that in mind, I've decided that the homework for next month's meet-up will be to take some still life shots.
Share them to the group or email them to me at marco.ferrari@packetseries.co.uk so I can make a slideshow for us to gather round at the next meet-up and give each other feedback.
If you couldn't make it this time round, we will be holding meet-ups every month from now on. Next month's will be on Sunday December 2 at Espressini on The Moor, meeting at 3pm.
We'll start off with coffee and the still life slideshow before having a wander round town for some street photography.
Afterwards, you'll have a whole month to select your best shots and edit them for the following meet-up where there'll be another slideshow and some constructive criticism.
Thanks to everyone who came along.
