There’s a whole new way to explore the 12 sections of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Cornwall AONB App, which launched today, will help to discover the delights of the ten coastal and two inland sections, providing all the information needed in an instant, whether you are on the Rame Peninsula or way down west in Penwith.

Colette Beckham, partnership manager at Cornwall AONB, added: "This is a new departure for the Cornwall AONB but we realise the importance of keeping up with the digital revolution and it has been great to work with Pirate FM in helping to raise the digital profile of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

"We hope that both visitors and residents alike will download our app and use it as a useful guide when exploring the AONB."

The Cornwall AONB app will be your ‘go to’ source of information on what to look for and where to go and is available for i-phone and Android mobiles.

Over the past 18 months the Cornwall AONB Unit has been working closely with Pirate FM to develop the AONB app.

The app is the result of a chance meeting between the Cornwall AONB Development Officer and the Head of Digital Design at Pirate FM, where it was agreed to work together to produce an app that would provide all the information needed.

Mark Peters, managing director at Pirate FM, said: "We are thrilled to be working with the Cornwall AONB Partnership in the production of the app, promoting this special designated landscape and help raise the digital profile of the AONB through a wider audience reach. It is our hope that Pirate FM listeners, residents and visitors alike will appreciate the importance of protecting this special area of natural beauty."

The app launched today and will be available for all to download from the link on the Cornwall AONB website www.cornwall-aonb.gov.uk/map-of-cornwall
