A Falmouth woman whose car collided with a pedestrian causing him to die of his injuries a month later has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Charlotte Abbi Stott, also known as Charlotte Weston, of Trevithick Road, aged 30, failed to stop after a collision on the A39 bypass which ultimately ended in the death of 41-year-old Cameron Grieve, from Penryn.
The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday April 14 this year near Asda in Penryn.
Stott pleaded guilty to failing to stop and failing to report the incident to a police station within 24 hours.
Truro magistrates handed her a 20 week prison sentence, suspended for one year, and her licence was endorsed with nine penalty points.
She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and court costs of £85.
