A MAN who left flowers and a note on a doorstep has been jailed for 24 weeks.

Damien Kerry Osbourne, aged 50, of Wheal Rose, Porthleven, admitted committing the offence between November 3 and 5.

In leaving the flowers and note without reasonable excuse, he breached a restraining order which had been imposed by Bodmin magistrates on February 10.

The reason for his prison sentence was because the defendant "has a flagrant disregard for court orders, because of previous convictions and a need to protect the victim".

He was also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

A TRURO man failed to give information relating to the driver who allegedly committed an offence, Bodmin magistrates heard.

Nikolai Dinev, aged 48, of The Parade, Tregolls, has been banned from driving for six months after committing the offence on May 16.

He was also fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

A CAMBORNE man failed to give information relating to the driver who allegedly committed an offence, Bodmin magistrates heard.

Christopher Michael Williams, aged 19, of The Glebe, committed the offence on May 14 and has been disqualified from driving for 12 months.

He was also fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

A MAN who stole fabric conditioner from Asda in Penryn has been handed a community order by Truro magistrates.

Paul Spillar, aged 39, of Trelowarren Street, Camborne, committed a string of shoplifting offences besides the conditioner theft.

On October 12 he stole Vodka to the value of £193 from Asda, having stolen the fabric conditioner on September 21.

His crimes breached another community order which had been imposed on July 30, following a series of previous thefts from supermarkets in Helston and Newquay.

Spillar has been put under curfew via electronic monitoring for nine weeks.

He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.

A VAN driver from Mawnan Smith has been fined for speeding through a mid-Cornwall village.

Darren Mark Glover, aged 48, of Lowenna Fields, admitted committing the offence in a Mercedes Vito on December 28.

He was fined £160 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

A POOL man who didn't pay a rail fare of £6.95 has been fined by Truro magistrates.

Shaun Paul Roberts, aged 29, of Fore Street, admitted committing the offence on April 2 at Barnstaple.

He was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £40, £30 victim surcharge and £6.95 compensation.

A WOMAN who kept a car without tax in Falmouth has been fined £440.

Jenna Harris, of Plovers Field, Crowntown, near Helston, committed the offence on November 6, 2017, when a Ford Focus was found to be unlicensed.

She was fined £440 and ordered to pay £90 costs and £81.67 back duty.

STEALING a charity box from a Penzance hotel has resulted in a suspended prison sentence for a 40 year-old man.

Terence John Foyle, of no fixed address, admitted taking the RSPB charity box from Queens Hotel on November 7.

He also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on the same day.

The reason for the custodial sentence was because he threatened to use a knife and his previous convictions.

His four-week term is suspended for six months. He was ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

A MAN who drove without due care and attention has appeared before Bodmin magistrates.

Jason White, aged 29, of Chariot Road, Redruth, pleaded guilty to the offence on December 12 on Arch Hill, Truro.

He also admitted failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

He was fined £153 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six points.
