After months of preparation Helston Fatsock Show is taking place today - on a Saturday for the first time in the show's history.

Taking place at Franchis Farm near Wendron, on the B3297 opposite the Wheal Dream, the show is held under one roof, meaning it can all be enjoyed in the dry even if it's wet outside.

A show spokesperson said: "Staged entirely indoors with free entry, this should appeal to everyone interested in where their food comes from."

Doors open 10am to allow visitors to view the livestock and browse the stalls.

Throughout the day, until 4 pm, the domestic show entries - including cookery, crafts and photography - will be on show along with activities for children and food.

Along with the usual cattle, sheep and farm produce, floral art, home produce, crafts, eggs, YFC, photography and children’s classes, there are craft and produce stalls selling their individual and interesting products.

Wendron Pre-school will also be there with a game and fundraising cakes stall.

Businesses and individuals have also donated a wide range of lots for a Grand Auction which will take place in the afternoon, the proceeds of which will go to the Cornwall Air Ambulance New Heli Appeal.
