Truro's Remembrance Day service to remember the fallen started off at Truro Cathedral, where thousands of poppies were dropped from the rafters to cascade to the ground in a poignant display.

A reflective service was held at 10.30am in the cathedral where there were readings, prayers and a new anthem written for the occasion by Russel Pascoe, with words by Dr Tony Pinchin.

The wreath laying ceremony took place at the war memorial in Boscawen Street where the lord lieutenant and mayor of Truro took the salute, followed by a procession to the cathedral for a second service.

At 3.15pm, a Royal British Legion service of Remembrance was held to honour fallen comrades. Standards were paraded into the cathedral and wreaths of poppies were laid at the Boscawen Street war memorial.

The last post was sounded after Laurence Binyon's poem For the Fallen was read.

In Camborne, a parade met at 10.15am before proceeding to the Parish Church for a wreath laying and remembrance service.

The Wesley Methodist Church held their own 'Lest we Forget' concert, where Lanner and District Silver Band played alongside the Four Lanes Choir.

Redruth's Remembrance service left Sea View Terrace at 10.30am and proceeded down Albany Road into Victoria Park.

A ceremony then took place in front of the war memorial where a two-minute silence was held and wreaths laid.
