Selling an unauthorised medical product made from human blood could land a former Falmouth Town Councillor in jail.

David Noakes, 65, will be sentenced next Thursday (November 22) along with his ex-wife Loraine for selling an unlicensed product called GcMAF – supposedly a cure for cancer and autism.

He appeared at Southwark Crown Court and admitted charges relating to the manufacture, possession and sale of several products including the GcMAF.

Noakes was Falmouth Town Councillor for Penwerris Ward between May 2007 and January 2010, when he resigned due to work commitments.

His company, Immuno Biotech, sells GcMAF online and claims that "it removes a number of diseases from the body including cancer without side effects."

Gerald Heddell, from the Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said: "These products may pose a significant risk to people’s health," after an inspection of a facility producing GcMAF in 2015.

In a video promoting the product, Noakes said: "GcMAF is a human protein that we all make if we are healthy. It's the king of immunotherapies. The immune system doesn't work without it and it's a human right because we make it."

Noakes, of Waldershare in Dover pleaded guilty to two counts of manufacturing a medicinal product without a manufacturer's licence, two counts of selling or supplying medicinal products without market authorisation and one count of money laundering.

His ex-wife Loraine Noakes, of Ringwood in Hampshire, admitted to two counts of selling or supplying medicinal products without market authorisation.

Noakes unsuccessfully ran for the leadership of UKIP in 2006, and has a website called eutruth.co.uk where he writes articles under headings such as "Nazis founded the EU".
