Firefighters battled through the night to put out a major fire that broke out on The Lizard Peninsula .
The blaze was behind Zoar, on the road to St Keverne.
It was estimated to cover around a quarter of a mile of gorse in length and went back further.

Witnesses said it was around 50 metres from Zoar Garage and its fuel pumps, with fire fighters battling hard to stop it from spreading.
Such was the size of the fire that flames were lighting up the night skyline and could seen from Ruan Minor and as far away as Falmouth, Constantine and Porkellis.
However, around an hour in, St Keverne Fire Station reported that crews were "making good progress."

Fire crews from St Keverne and the surrounding area were called there and working to try and bring the blaze under control.
A fire service spokesperson said last night: "The Critical Control Centre are currently receiving multiple calls for a large gorse fire in St Keverne.
"Appliances from St Keverne, Helston and Mullion are in attendance.
"There is a fire front of approximately 1,000 metres, being fanned by high wind. Firefighters are using beaters to extinguish the fire."
It came just 24 hours after a large gorse fire at Ruan Minor on Sunday evening.
