The Arts Society Falmouth are to hold a guest lecture to celebrate the work and career of cartoonist Giles.
The event will take place on Friday December 14 at the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth, starting at 10:30am, and will be given by former journalist, author and notable trustee Barry Venning.
It will look at the work of Giles, who spent most of his career producing cartoons for the Express newspaper, a profession that spanned 45 years. His work was also memorialised in annuals.
His most famous creations included Grandma Giles which allowed him to express himself by saying things he was too polite to say in person.
Tickets for the event will cost £10 for non-society members, and all guests are invited to stay after the lecture to kick off Christmas festivities with complimentary wine and mince pies.
