Strong winds may have prevented the fireworks at last night’s Porthleven Christmas Lights Switch but Santa was still able to fly in for a special visit.
Plenty of people braved the chilly conditions to take part in the event that saw the port begin its festive celebrations.

Porthleven Town Band were there to entertain with carols in the run up to the switch on, which took place at the Harbour Head.
After initially fearing the weather may prevent the barbecue from running, Porthleven Gig Club managed to push ahead with it from their clubhouse.
With the port illuminated, Santa and his elves arrived travelling on a special Rudolph-themed pick up truck, complete with red nose and antlers.
Percy the tyre snowman also made a welcome return – and this year brought along his new friend Polly.
