Firefighters have been battling a house blaze in Camborne this evening.

A spokesman for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said that on arrival at Centenary Street shortly before 6pm firefighters found smoke coming from the house, with people reported to be inside.

Two fire crews from Tolvaddon were sent to the scene, along with firefighters from Penzance, Truro, St Just and Falmouth.

The spokesman initially said: “The fire involves a mid-terrace property of two floors with the ground floor well alight, teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are committed at this time with high pressure hosereel jets and main jets for firefighting.”

At 7pm the fire service issued an update, which said: “Crews are still in attendance at this property - all persons have now been accounted for.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are still committed to the property to damp down and turnover, monitoring for hotspots.”

The incident is being scaled down and some crews are leaving the scene.
