A KIND-HEARTED couple have lit up their house for Christmas in aid of charity.

Wild and windy weather on Saturday evening didn't stop neighbours turning out to see Jill Penny and her partner Terry Hack’s Christmas lights being switched on at their home at Park Bottom near Redruth.

To the sound of Christmas carols played by the Illogan Silver Band, the lights were switched on by Jill and Terry’s guest of honour, the BBC Radio Cornwall presenter and entertainer Freddy Zapp.

Big-hearted Jill has illuminated her house with thousands of lights in aid of the charity Children with Cancer and hopes that friends and passersby who enjoy the festive spectacle will make donations to the charity via her Just Giving fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jill-penny2

Children with Cancer UK raises money for and invests in vital specialist research to save the lives of children with cancer and keep their family together.

The lights have been sponsored by Trevenson Moor Garden Centre and Jill said she hoped people would enjoy the lights and help children with cancer in the UK.
