ASSAULTING a police support officer has resulted in a community order for a 20 year-old man.

Michael Joseph Ralph Martin, of Langorran Road, Camborne, originally denied the charge but later pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place in Camborne on September 18.

He also admitted failing to surrender a can of beer to the PCSO.

Martin has to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work for the next 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £65 costs.

A MAN found guilty of assault has been ordered to pay £720 costs.

Oliver Beumkes, aged 24, of Small Side, Hayle, denied the offence but was found guilty. It took place on August 30, in Hayle.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £50 compensation and £30 victim surcharge.

Beumkes was also found guilty of a second assault charge on a woman, for which there was no separate penalty.

A DRIVER who exceeded a 70mph speed limit has been fined £436 and banned from the roads.

Alexander John H Coney, aged 21, of Penelewey, Feock, admitted committed the offence on the A30 at Victoria in an Audi on August 9.

He was ordered to pay £400 costs and £43 victim surcharge. He was disqualified from driving for 30 days.

A ST ERME man drove without insurance, Bodmin magistrates heard.

Mark Bailey, aged 33, of Thatch View, drove a Volkswagen illegally in St Austell on August 7.

He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six points.

A VEHICLE which had tyres of different types of structure was driven by a Hayle man.

Jason Robert Bentley-Smith, aged 30, of Mexico Terrace, Phillack, committed the offence in a Nissan on the A30 at Crowlas on July 28.

He also drove without an MoT certificate.

He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

An ILLOGAN man who failed to comply with supervision requirements following his release from prison has been handed a community order.

Daniel Kenneth Penrose, aged 29, of Coronation Road, provided a positive drug test on October 3.
He has been placed on a 21-day curfew and was also ordered to pay £50 costs.

EXCEEDING a 30mph speed limit has resulted in a driving ban for a Truro man.
Scott William Roots, aged 40, of Hutton Heights,

Highertown, admitted the offence which took place on April 25 on the old A30 at Blackwater.  

He was disqualified for 14 days and ordered to pay a £10 fine and £30 victim surcharge.
