The Falmouth Town Team is organising a High Street Festive Evening on the final late shopping night on Thursday December 20.

An eclectic mix of artisan food producers, cafes, creative agencies, award-winning restaurants and funky bars from High Street will work together to create an unforgettable evening of food, dance and music.

The Falmouth Christmas Bus will also make an appearance, with a Santa's Grotto downstairs and live music on the top deck from choirs such as the Culdrose Military Wives Choir.

The Falmouth Town Team - the partnership between the Falmouth BID and Falmouth Town Council - is once again co-ordinating the Christmas events and lights programme and encouraging businesses to take part.

As part of the schedule, the four Thursday late-night shopping evenings will be on Thursday November 29 and then December 6, 13, and 20.

Richard Wilcox, Falmouth BID manager said: “Such a proactive collaboration among traders is great to see. We’re lucky that we have in Falmouth a range of terrific businesses operating across numerous sectors.”

Vikki Jones of Marmalade Antiques who has helped coordinate the High Street gathering added: “High Street is such a special part of Falmouth. All the businesses are looking forward to coming together for the late-night shopping evening to celebrate everything we have to offer.

"We hope lots of new and old faces will join us for some festive fun.”

There is a packed programme of festive events and activity planned including:

• Falmouth Christmas Bus – An open-top double decker bus has been secured thanks to a partnership working between Falmouth Town Council, Falmouth BID and the First Bus Group. The bus will not only be decorated but transformed into a hub of festive activity for all ages, with everything from choirs and storytelling sessions to craft workshops and live theatre. The Christmas bus will be out and about on selected dates throughout December.

• Late night shopping – the first one coincided with the Christmas lights switch-on evening of Thursday November 29 and will continue on each Thursday in the lead up to Christmas. Local businesses are invited to stay open late on these dates.

• Adopt a Tree – this proved very popular last year, and so businesses have once again got in touch with the Town Team to receive a free Christmas tree to display outside their business premises on all the late-night shopping events.

• More Falmouth Festive Favourites – These are all being organised for the town once again:

- Miracle Theatre. Aladdin will be their Christmas show at Princess Pavilion and the show will run from the December 7 until January 5. Tickets on sale now from miracletheatre.co.uk.

- Christmas Tree Festival. The big switch-on took place on Sunday December 2 up at Princess Pavilion and Gyllyngdune Gardens and the trees are on display for the rest of the month.

- Santa Fun Run. Falmouth will be filled with Santas for the Cornwall Hospice Care Santa Fun Run on Saturday December 15.

- Harmony Choir. An institution in Falmouth, the Harmony Choir will be performing in the streets on Monday December 24.
