Staff at Penryn-based Blue Flame Heating have donated 15 bags of food, household goods and Christmas gifts to the Penryn and Falmouth Foodbank.

The collection was arranged at the company’s Penryn offices by director, Simon Foxhall.

“Being part of the community is extremely important to us at Blue Flame and has been over the last 30 years,” said Simon.

“I am really proud of how the team came together to donate so much to help local families.

“Our aim is to keep people warm and with hot water, so I’m pleased that the team have rallied to prevent people from going hungry at this time of year.”

Over 90 percent of food distributed by foodbanks is donated by the public.

Penryn and Falmouth Foodbank collect donations from ASDA, The Natural Store in Falmouth and Jubilee Warehouse, Penryn.

Simon added: “I encourage everyone, including local businesses, to make a donation so that everyone can enjoy a happy Christmas.”
