The family of missing Cadgwith woman Joanna Aplin has been informed after a body was found on a beach near Fowey.
Mrs Aplin, 61, has been missing for almost two weeks, having last been seen at her home at around 7am on December 5. Her car was found at Coverack that evening.
Since then police have been carrying out an extensive search of the area with coastguard teams and the police helicopter, to no avail.
However, police said this morning that a body was found at Fowey at around 10.45am on Saturday, near Polridmouth.
A spokesperson said: "Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, the family of missing woman, Joanna Aplin, have been information of this development."
