Following a successful series of test transmissions, Goldmine, the region's newest radio service, will officially launch at 8.15am on Tuesday, January 1.
The South West’s Goldmine will be broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week on DAB digital radio, online, smart apps and via smart speakers, playing classic hits from the 1950’s 1960’s 1970’s and 1980’s.
Launch director Dan Warren said: “The secret is finally out of the bag! We’ve had a tremendous response to both our live and pre-recorded test transmissions, so we thought what better way to celebrate the start of 2019 by launching a brand new radio station.”
The station is also delighted to announce that the international broadcaster Mike Mendoza is the latest to their presentation line up. Having started his career in New Zealand, Mike has worked all over the world including successful periods in Australia, Italy and the United States.
He’s probably best known for his 11 year stint at LBC in London as well talkSPORT.
Mike said: "I am so excited to be joining such an amazing radio station that covers one of my favourite areas in the whole of the UK, that will be playing my kind of music."
Mike will be joining Duncan Warren, Tony James and Roger Day amongst other presenters from 1st January.
