Mylor and Flushing's monthly magazine – called simply The Magazine – has been awarded best design and third place overall (for its size) in the National Parish Magazine Awards 2018.

Over 400 entries were judged for their content, design, printing and editorship.

The Magazine’s editor, Melanie Franks said, “Just over a year ago, when I was new to the area, I saw a call for a new editor for the community magazine and thought that it would be good way to get involved locally. I work with a great team of volunteers who collectively create each monthly issue.

"I’ve really enjoyed my first year as Editor and am both pleased and proud that we’ve been so highly regarded at the national level. Thank you to everyone: the team, contributors, advertisers and distributors who make it all possible”.

Run by volunteers, The Magazine is published monthly and distributed free to readers throughout the parish of Mylor for the benefit of the whole community.

The content, providing general interest articles and updates on events and activities in the parish, is largely contributed by members of the local community.

The Magazine is extremely popular with residents who say it provides everything they need to know about the area.
