You can now recycle your empty crisp packets at Falmouth Garden Centre and the Municipal Building on The Moor.

Owners of the garden centre are setting up a drop off point for those who would rather not see their plastic packaging go to waste.

Anyone can drop off their empty bags at the garden centre during their normal opening hours, which are 9am to 5pm every day except Sunday when they are open from 10am to 4pm.

Erika Webber, who runs the centre, said: "The more people that we can get involved, the better. It's a very simple thing that doesn't take too much time at all."

Walkers are sponsoring the scheme and will pick up used packets once several kilograms have been collected.

Recycling company TerraCycle will then process the bags, separating them by plastic type and cleaning them before extruding them into plastic pellets ready to made into new products.

Any type of crisp packet can be recycled through the scheme apart from Pringles and similar cardboard packaging.

A second drop off point at the Municipal Building on The Moor is also open.

Any private recycler or business can sign up to become a drop off point by visiting: walkers.co.uk/recycle.
