A police statement has revealed more details about Thursday's collision in the Boslowick Co-Op car park.

The woman involved in the collision was 84 years old, and she sustained serious injuries after a blue Volkswagon Passat collided with her at 12.41pm.

She was trapped underneath the car and had to be released by firefighters before being transferred into the Cornwall Air Ambulance helicopter and flown to hospital.

It is unlikely that weather conditions are to have played a role in the collision, as the police statement noted that visibility was good at the time.
