Organisers of the Boardmasters festival will be available for questions at a Cornwall Community Network Panel meeting on Thursday.

Vision Nine will be attending a meeting of the Newquay and St Columb Community Network area to give a review of last year’s event and discuss plans for the 2019 festival.

With the event drawing around 48,000 festival goers to the area each year, the organisers and community network panel want to hear from residents to ensure the impact on the local community is kept to a minimum.

Councillor Edwina Hannaford, the Council’s portfolio holder for neighbourhoods will also be attending the meeting to discuss continuing plans for strengthening community network panels (CNPs).

This gives CNPs options to strengthen local partnerships and agree local priorities, as well as have greater engagement with local community to enable residents to have more influence over issues such as devolution.

The network panel meeting will take place at 7pm on Thursday, at St Wenn WI Hall, PL30 5PS.

During the meeting there will also be an opportunity for local residents to ask questions and hear updates from parish, town and Cornwall councillors on local matters.

St Mawgan and Colan Councillor and Chairman of the Newquay and St Columb Community Network Panel, John Fitter, said: "You’ll have the opportunity to ask Boardmasters organisers questions about the event and it’s organisation. Come along, find out more and meet your parish, town and Cornwall councillor.”

More information about the Community Network Panels and dates for future meetings can be found on the Cornwall Council Community Networks webpage.
