POSSESSING a Samurai sword has resulted in a jail sentence for a 22 year old man.
Aiden Luke Parkyn, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to the offence which took place on Friday.
Without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, Parkyn was found with the sword outside the Pine Factory, Barncoose Terrace, in Redruth.
He was sent to prison for 16 weeks by Bodmin magistrates and ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £35 costs.
The sword was forfeited and destroyed under Section 143 Powers Criminal Courts Act 2000.
