Tickets are now on sale for this year’s Porthleven Food Festival, taking place over three days from April 26 to 28.

Entry to the daytime music and entertainment remains free-of-charge, including the Chefs’ Theatre demonstrations, the children and family area - including workshops, circus skills and shows - the Lime Kiln Stage, the Literary Tent and all food markets.

However, visitors will once again need tickets for the evening music events - and this year’s Sunday evening Shipyard Session will be a celebration of local talent with all Porthleven musicians playing.

Alec Short, director of ARC Live, which are based in Porthleven and run the festival, said: “We have always had a big representation from local bands, with talented artists like Rosie playing on home turf most years, but there’s a lot of talent here in Porthleven and we want to recognise that across the festival.

“We’re very pleased to offer this fantastic Sunday locals line-up of bands and artists who are all based here and showcase them to our visitors from near and far.”

Sunday’s line-up features local garage band Ola Loco, punk-surf favourites Half Kut, the pop synths of Rosie Crow and the 80s channelling Go Go Skank.

More details about this year’s festival, including plans for parking and traffic management, were exclusively reported by the Packet last week – read more here.

A limited number of Earlybird Gourmet tickets are now on sale at £35, or £19.50 for children aged 12 to18, with under 12s getting free entry. Gourmet tickets allow access to all the weekend’s stages and events and include a bridge pass to cross the harbour, as well as priority seating in the Chef’s Theatre. Once they are sold out the price will increase to £39 online and then £45 on the door.

Individual evening tickets for Sunday are priced at £7.50 and this includes a £1 donation to a local charity. There will also be a chance for locals to buy Sunday tickets at a reduced rate in Porthleven prior to the event. Friday evening only tickets are £15 and Saturday evening £14, with all tickets half price for children aged 12 to18.

Another big change is that there will be no booking fees on tickets this year.

Alec added: “We had feedback that people don’t like the booking fees so we’ve scrapped them for this year. Individual tickets will cost £3 to £4 more on the door so it’s definitely worth getting them in advance.

“And those Earlybird Gourmets will fly out and once they’re gone, they’re gone so definitely worth bagging them now if you know you’re coming to support and enjoy the festival.

“We are in talks with some exciting acts for our opening party on Friday and our theme night on Saturday and we’ll be releasing details of those in the next few weeks.”

Camping and glamping tickets are also on sale to stay throughout the festival with options including a campsite with toilets and showers for tents, campervans and motorhomes, and glamping in pre-erected bell tents or shire huts with home comforts including beds and electricity.
