Former Radio One and Radio Two DJ 'Diddy' David Hamilton is set to become part of the presentation team on Cornwall's newest radio station, the south west's Goldmine.

The station, which as it's name suggests play's golden oldies from the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 1980's is based just outside Truro and officially launched on New Years Day with the original on-air team of Roger Day, Duncan Warren & Tony James, as well as former LBC and talkSPORT presenter Mike Mendoza.

David Hamilton began his broadcasting career with the British Forces Network in Germany and gained the nickname 'Diddy' while working with Ken Dodd on his television programme 'Ken Dodd's Music Box'.

Hamilton is no stranger to the south west having hosted the quiz show Dig & Run for Westward Television from their studios at Derry's Cross Plymouth, before joining Radio One where he went on the present his own afternoon programme, which moved to Radio Two in the mid-seventies.

David Hamilton's Million Sellers will be part of the Super Saturday line-up joining Roger Day, Duncan Warren, Tony James and Bob Francis giving Goldmine a strong weekend presence.

The south west's 'Goldmine' can be heard 24 hours a day on DAB Digital Radio, online, on your phone with the free app from Play store and on smart speaker devices.
