Michelle Bray has taken her fundraising to another level by opening a new shop in memory of her daughter Sasha, who sadly passed away in 2015 from a rare liver cancer.

The 'little blue shop' in St George's Arcade is the second charity shop run by Michelle in aid of Tanya's Courage Trust supporting young people with cancer.

Michelle, who is also on the Pink Wig Events committee, said: "When we opened [the shop], it was just about making money for the charity. I didn't realise how it would help the local community and support lots of other areas."

Vivian Oliver has been volunteering at the shop for the last 18 months. He lost his mum and brother to cancer, and he says that volunteering "filled a big void in my life, it kept me busy".

Michelle is also launching a new fundraising group called Sasha Would've Loved It that aims to raise money to organise activities for young people with cancer.

A 'Ska Bash 4 Sash' will be their first event, celebrating what would have been Sasha's 23rd birthday on February 9 at the Falmouth Rugby Club, with doors opening at 8pm.

It will be the fourth year that they have been celebrating Sasha's birthday with her favourite music, but the first in support of the new fundraising group.

Tickets cost £7.50, which includes a pasty, and are available from both the Penryn and the new Falmouth shop.

The group is also organising a sponsored skydive and zipwire, and a willing volunteer is needed.
