Vandals targeted a mum's fitness class in Penryn yesterday (Wednesday January 23) months after a "killer clown" was spotted watching them through the window.

According to Charlotte Stevens who runs the class, vandals blocked the front door of the building at Penryn Athletic Football Club with a bench and trapped them inside.

When they left through the back door, they realised that the wing mirrors on their cars had been smashed.

She said: "The girls were a little bit freaked out by it. People can see in but can't see out so they were probably watching us exercise.

"A fourteen-year-old girl was there for the first time, and she just cried all the way home. A lot of the girls said they wouldn't be coming back."

Around Halloween time, someone in a "killer clown" mask was spotted watching the group exercise.

Although she believes that the spooky spectator "was probably just kids messing around," Charlotte said this latest act of vandalism was "just quite scary" for the women in the class.

She has reported the incident to police, who have asked anyone who witnessed it or has more information to contact them on the non-emergency 101 line quoting log 861 of January 23.
