Nine homes could be built off Helston town centre in place of former lock-up garages.
Cornwall Council has been asked for pre-application advice from the executors of the will for the late Mr DJWT Rose, over the possibility of converting the garages into houses.
The site is off 57 Meneage Street, on what used to be a cut-through on foot to Penview Crescent and the Tyacke Road car park beyond.
Agents acting on behalf of the executors, Lodge and Thomas, state in planning documents: "The site is currently derelict and unused, with remains of former lock-up garages."
Once Cornwall Council has given advice over the feasibility of the scheme, the executors will decide whether to submit a full planning application.
