Police have arrested three people in connection with an armed robbery in a village near Camborne.

This took place at 12:45pm yesterday (Thursday) at the Beacon Stores shop on Fore Street, Beacon and staff were threatened with a knife during the incident.

Two men aged 34 and 20, plus a 32-year-old woman, all from Camborne have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Daniel Massey, said: “Following the attempted knifepoint robbery at Beacon Stores in Camborne, yesterday, we have made arrests and now have three in custody.

“It is now known that shop staff were responsible for thwarting the robbery and that those responsible left empty handed in a car.

“Thanks to the thorough information provided by witnesses, the car was identified and located, leading to arrests in the Camborne area.

“I would like to reassure the public that this is a rare occurrence, however we are still appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information that can assist with the investigation and who has yet to have spoken to the police is asked to contact 101 quoting crime reference CR/009535/19.”
