IT was a Christmas Day to forget for a 22 year-old woman, who committed two offences heard by Truro magistrates on Monday.

Elisha Kerren Hart, of Forth Scol, Illogan Highway, was in possession of cannabis when she was arrested for being drunk in a public street on December 25.

Hart, who was the subject of a criminal behaviour order made by Cornwall magistrates on March 12, was found with 2.96g of cannabis.

She was given a community order to attend rehabilitation appointments. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.

* A DRINK driver from Truro has been banned from the roads for 22 months.

Samuel McKenzie Love, aged 20, from Harrison Terrace, drove a silver VW Polo on Bodmin Road when he had 87mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He admitted committing the offence on January 12 and also to driving without insurance.

He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

* A 28 year old man was found to be over the legal alcohol limit whilst driving near St Day.

Mantvydas Savickas, of Cardiff Terrace, Redruth, pleaded guilty to the offence on January 8 in a silver Vauxhall Astra, near the Star Inn.

He had 78mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was disqualified from driving for 19 months and fined £600. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge.

* A MAN who destroyed a television belonging to his partner has been handed a community order by Truro magistrates.

Connor Matthew Mcauley, aged 27, of Prospect Place, Truro, admitted committing the offence in the city on January 8.

He also admitted further charges of possessing cannabis and drunk and disorderly behaviour in St Mary's Street, Truro, on January 19.

He must carry out 40 hours of unpaid work and was ordered to pay £170 costs and £85 victim surcharge.

* A MAN who damaged a flat screen television to the value of £50 has been given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Ricky Simon A Lawlor, aged 31, of Higher Trevithick, admitted committing the offence in Bodmin on December 3.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs, £50 compensation and £20 victim surcharge.

* STEALING a door lock has resulted in a court appearance for a Camborne man.

James Piran Long, aged 23, of Trevithick Terrace, admitted committing the offence from Highness Ltd in Camborne on October 16.

He received a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay compensation of £27, costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

* A PENSIONER'S drunk and disorderly behaviour resulted in him receiving a conditional discharge from Truro magistrates.

Jeffrey Bernard Church, aged 71, of Bassett Street, Camborne, admitted committing the offence in the town's Trelowarren Street on January 10.

He was discharged for six months and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge.

* A MAN who exceeded a 70mph speed limit has been heavily fined.

Mark John Presland, aged 59, from Barripper, has also been disqualified from driving for 14 days following the offence on August 22 at Cullompton, Devon.

Presland was fined £580 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £58 victim surcharge.

* A WOMAN who drove a car with a large crack in the windscreen was found to have no insurance.

Hannah Hansen, aged 33, of Fore Street, St Day, committed the offences on September 26 on Tregolls Road, Truro.

Besides the windscreen defect, the passenger's door was also unable to open and the windscreen washer bottle was empty on the Vauxhall she was driving.

She was also guilty of driving without an MoT.

Hansen has been banned from driving for six months and fined £660. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

* A 63 year old man drove without due care and attention has been disqualified for nine months.

Albert George Phillips, of Crasken Farm, Helston, was also found guilty of driving a Peugeot without insurance or an MoT certificate in Chapel, Hill, Gweek, on July 27.

He was also fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.
