A RACIALLY aggravated assault was committed by a Porthleven man, Truro magistrates heard.

Mark Hatch, aged 30, of Mounts Bay Terrace, admitted the offence which took place at a Londis shop in Newcastle on May 18 last year.

He assaulted a man by beating and the offence was racially aggravated within the terms of section 28 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

He was handed a community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement.

Hatch was also fined £100 and ordered to pay £250 compensation, £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.

* DRIVING without insurance, MoT or a licence has resulted in six-month ban for a Camborne woman.

Jacqueline Bray-Robin, aged 44, of William Street, committed the offences on September 16 when she drove a Land Rover at Tuckingmill.

She was disqualified from driving and fined £660. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

* FAILING to give the identity of a driver alleged to have committed an offence has resulted in a ban for a 36 year-old man.

Keith Alexander Cecil-Wright, of Trelowarren Street, Camborne, committed the offence on July 3.

He was disqualified for six months and fined £660. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

* A MAN who drove without due care and attention has been disqualified.

Glee Arthur Crawley, aged 62, of Godolphin Road, Long Rock, Penzance, admitted committing the offence at Rejerrah, near Newquay, on July 15 in a Seat Leon.

He was banned for six months and fined £190. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

* A MAN who drove without using a seatbelt was also found to have no insurance or licence, Bodmin magistrates heard.

Paul Houghton, aged 29, of Blackberry Close, Lanner, admitted committing the offences on October 4 at Scorrier in a Peugeot.

He was disqualified from driving for six months and fined £440. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £44 victim surcharge.

* A TRURO man has been fined after exceeding a 30mph speed limit.

Mostafa Abdelrahman, aged 68, of Trelander South, committed the offence in Newquay on August 5.

He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

His licence was endorsed with three points.

* A DRINK driver from Leedstown has been banned for 20 months.

Dariuis Saukalas, aged 42, of Paul's Green Farm, admitted committing the offence on January 19 in a Ford Galaxy in Helston.

He had 72mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

* A LIZARD man has been fined after pleading guilty to speeding.

Scott Phillip Tiddy, aged 35, of Per Kithen, committed the offence on the A30 at Launceston on August 5, when he exceeded a 70mph limit.

He was fined £181 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

* SPEEDING has cost a Penzance man his licence.

Alan James Gates, aged 55, of Kings Road, has been banned for 28 days after exceeding a 30mph limit on the A388 at Clawton, Devon.

He admitted the offence and was fined £528 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £52 victim surcharge.

* A COMMUNITY Order has been imposed on a thief from Camborne.

Leon Thomas Paull, aged 49, of Trelowarren Street, stole a selection of fresh meat to the value of £93.50 belonging to Co-op in Penzance.

He admitted the offence and also pleaded guilty to stealing groceries to the value of £356.02 from Asda in Hayle.

He has been placed under a curfew for three months, during which he will be electronically monitored.

He was also ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge.

* DRIVING without insurance or a licence has resulted in a driving ban for a Truro man.

Timothy Jack Wills, aged 28, of Carrine Way, committed the offences on September 20 in a Hyundai, in Richmond Place.

He was banned for six months and fined £660. He was ordered to pay £600 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

* A VIOLENT man who committed a string of assaults in Falmouth, two of which were on women, has been sent to prison.

Alan Donovan Clark, aged 49, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to three assaults and to one of possession of cannabis.

Two of the attacks took place on January 25 and a third occurred on February 5, on the same day of the drugs offence.

He has been jailed for eight weeks because he was offending whilst on bail and he committed a "series of violent offending over a number of days, putting vulnerable victims in fear".
