A CRASH on a main road has been cleared and traffic is easing in the area.

POLICE had received reports of an accident on a main road in Truro around midday.

The Force confirmed that a silver car crashed into three stationary vehicles near Highertown Church on the A390 westbound.

One person received minor facial injuries.

The crash was orginally reported to have taken place further along the A390, with both directions believed to have been partially blocked between Newbridge Lane and the Treliske Hospital roundabout.

However, the traffic information news provided by Inrix later updated the details.

Queuing traffic was extensive in the area between Station Road (Sainsbury's roundabout) and Penwerris Road.

Eastbound traffic was backed up beyond Truro City Football Club, towards Arch Hill.

Traffic also built up as shoppers try to leave Sainsbury's.
