Glendurgan Garden reopens to the public on Saturday and there’s lots for visitors to see and do at the beautiful National Trust property near Falmouth.

Snowdrops, camellias and daffodils can be spotted around the garden as well as some early flowering magnolias.

Visitors can also see some of the conservation work that has been done over the winter, including the replacement of paths and steps in the historic maze, which is part of a four year restoration project to preserve this iconic feature.

For families, there is a fun half term trail, inspired by the variety of early spring colour.

Young visitors can collect a Glendurgan colour wheel from reception and get creative on a walk around the garden, seeing how many different colours they can spot.

The Fish Cellar in Durgan village will also be open where visitors can warm up by the wood burner and have a chat with the friendly volunteers.

A second hand book area has been introduced to the building this year with a selection of fiction and non-fiction books available as well as children’s books.

Tamsin Hennah, senior visitor experience officer, said: "There are already lots of signs of spring with lovely colourful camellias flowering along the entrance route and delicate clusters of wildflowers appearing around the garden.

"We also have a fantastic programme of events and activities planned for this year and we’re looking forward to welcoming both first time and regular visitors to the garden in 2019."

Glendurgan reopens to the public on Saturday and will then be open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 10.30am to 5.30pm. For more information visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/glendurgan.
